Who we are
Dapter SRL ("Dapter", "we", "us") is a data engineering company registered in Romania, with its principal place of business at Axente Sever 20, 400177 Cluj-Napoca, Romania. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect
We collect personal data only when you actively provide it to us:
- Contact form — your name, email address, company name, and the contents of your message when you submit an enquiry via dapter.com/contact/.
- Newsletter subscription — your email address when you subscribe to our occasional engineering dispatches.
- Email correspondence — messages you send directly to hello@dapter.com or other Dapter addresses.
We do not use tracking pixels, behavioural advertising networks, or third-party analytics on this website. We do not collect data from visitors who do not interact with a form.
How we use it
- Contact form submissions — to respond to your enquiry, discuss a potential engagement, or answer your question. We do not add form submitters to marketing lists without explicit consent.
- Newsletter subscriptions — to send occasional email dispatches about data engineering, cloud architecture, and stream processing. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying with "unsubscribe".
- Email correspondence — to conduct business and maintain records of our communications.
Legal basis (GDPR)
For EU/EEA residents, the legal basis for processing your data is:
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for responding to enquiries and correspondence — we have a legitimate interest in communicating with prospective clients and partners.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for newsletter subscriptions — you explicitly provide your email address for this purpose.
Third parties
We use the following third-party service to process form submissions:
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) — a form processing service that forwards your contact form and newsletter subscription data to our inbox. FormSubmit processes data on our behalf as a data processor. Their privacy policy is available at formsubmit.co.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes, ever.
Retention
We retain enquiry data for as long as is necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, and no longer than 3 years unless an ongoing commercial relationship exists. Newsletter subscribers are retained until they unsubscribe. You may request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).
Your rights
Under the GDPR (and applicable Romanian data protection law), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict processing.
- Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time (for newsletter subscriptions).
- Lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP) at anspdcp.ro.
